During feasibility reviews, it has been determined that an overwhelming number of property tax returns are not completed correctly and often either mis-classify the fixed assets and/or report assets that are not taxable.  For manufacturers that have pollution control assets, a close review should be done to ensure ALL qualified assets are identified.  This is true for IRB and other abatements as well.  Have these abatement agreements reviewed to ensure your company is enjoying ALL negotiated and intended economic benefits.

I was reminded by through a linkedin group member today that Tennessee amended return deadline is approaching.  Many States including Tennessee allow for amended returns for corrections and subsequent refunds.

Have your property tax returns reviewed and take advantage of the possibility of refunds.
